Keynote - Jo Chrona FNESC


  • Jo Chrona

    Jo-Anne (Jo) L. Chrona is the Curriculum Manager for the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC). Her professional experience includes over 20 years teaching in both the K-12 and post-secondary systems in British Columbia, working as a Policy Analyst, an Advisor to the BC Ministry of Education, and serving as a Faculty Associate in SFU’s Teacher Education Program. She has a Bachelor of Arts from SFU, and a Diploma of Education and Master’s Degree from UBC.

    Over the past two decades, Jo has also been actively involved in the areas of curriculum and resource development and writing, professional learning through inquiry networks, literacy development, and Indigenous education. Recently, she was also actively involved in various aspects of education transformation in the BC education system.

    Jo is passionate about helping create systemic change in the K-12 education system to help create a truly inclusive, strength-based education experience for all learners. She is Ganhada of Waap (House) K’oom of the Kitsumkalum First Nation, a Ts’msyen Community in BC.
