SAFETY FIRST – School Science Lab Safety – Presented by FLINN SCIENTIFIC CANADA

“Safety in the classroom is paramount.  Other components of education — resources, teaching strategies, and facilities — are effective only in a safe classroom or lab” (B.C. Ministry of Education, Science Safety Resource Manual, Revised 2016).

This workshop looks at some critical safety issues in B.C.’s school science labs.  Videos, live demonstrations and games such as Wheel of Misfortune and Laboratory Feud will get you thinking about risk assessment and risk management in your lab.

This workshop is offered by Flinn Scientific Canada, a leader in school science lab safety.  Workshop participants will be shown how to access Flinn’s FREE resources for teachers.  The always popular prize draws will be held at the end of the session.
