Get Real: Measurable Environmental Action for the Classroom

As the impacts of climate change continue to pose significant environmental and social issues in society, empowering learners by tackling these growing challenges in the classroom is more important than ever. This session will explore a selection of GreenLearning’s free environmental challenges designed to put learners’ knowledge and skills into measurable environmental action. Educators will walk away with a toolbox of free resources, online tools and creative strategies for engaging their learners in hands-on, place-based education about climate change, energy and the green economy.

    Sidney Howlett

    Sidney Howlett is on a mission to empower youth to take climate action through education. Trained as a teacher, she has a diverse professional background leading outreach to post-secondary students, teaching in elementary and French immersion schools across Ontario, and establishing environmental art programs in the non-profit sector. As the Engagement Manager at GreenLearning, Sidney leads the growth and impact of programs and supports educators in implementing environmental education into their classrooms.
